Official Rules

These Official Rules (“Rules”) govern participation in all Soda Hunt™ treasure hunts (“Hunts”). By registering for or participating in any Hunt, all participants (“Hunters”) agree to these Rules.

  1. Eligibility

1.1. Participants must be 21 years of age or older to join any Hunt.
1.2. No purchase is necessary to participate or win.
1.3. Employees, owners, and contractors of participating businesses may participate but are not eligible to win cash prizes.
1.4. Hunts are void where prohibited by law.

  1. Registration Requirements

To participate, all Hunters must complete registration at SodaHunt.com or via an official Soda Hunt QR registration link.

2.1. Required information includes:

  • A valid email address
  • A valid cell phone number capable of receiving SMS
  • A valid PayPal or Venmo account for cash prize delivery
  • Acceptance of these Official Rules
  • Consent to receive Hunt-related notifications

2.2. Hunters may be required to verify their contact information before participating.
2.3. One account per person. Duplicate accounts will be removed.

  1. How Hunts Work

3.1. Each Hunt contains multiple participating businesses or locations (“Stops”).
3.2. Hunters must physically visit each Stop and scan the official Soda Hunt QR badge to register the visit.
3.3. Scanning a Stop:

  • Marks the Stop as “completed”
  • Unlocks that business’s exclusive offer
  • Provides an entry into prize drawings (including Surprise Cash Drops)

3.4. Progress is tracked automatically through the Soda Hunt system.
3.5. A Stop is only counted when the scan is verified by the system.
3.6. GPS check-ins or screenshots cannot substitute for an official scan.

  1. Completion Requirements

4.1. A Hunt is considered complete only when the Hunter scans all required Stops within that Hunt.
4.2. Completing a Hunt earns the Hunter:

  • A Completion Badge
  • One (1) entry into the associated Prize Pool
  • Eligibility to unlock higher-level or premium Hunts

4.3. Some Hunts may include optional bonus Stops that provide additional prize entries.

  1. Offers

5.1. Each participating business provides a unique Hunt-only offer accessible only after a valid scan.
5.2. Offers are subject to the business’s own terms, conditions, and expiration dates.
5.3. Offers hold no cash value and may not be exchanged, transferred, or combined unless explicitly stated.

  1. Prizes

6.1. Surprise Cash Drops

(a) Each official scan enters the Hunter into a random instant award drawing (“Surprise Cash Drop”).
(b) Winners are notified instantly via the Hunt platform and/or SMS.
(c) Prize amounts vary by event and location.
(d) Cash prizes are issued only via the PayPal or Venmo account provided at registration.
(e) If the PayPal or Venmo account is invalid or unverified, the prize is forfeited.

6.2. Completion Prize Pools

(a) Completing a Hunt earns one (1) entry into that Hunt’s Prize Pool.
(b) Prize types may include cash, gift cards, merchandise, or experience packages.
(c) All cash prizes are paid through PayPal or Venmo only.
(d) Prize drawings occur as stated on SodaHunt.com.

6.3. Grand Prizes

(a) Completing multiple Hunts (number varies by event) provides entry into larger Grand Prize drawings.
(b) Grand Prizes may include cash awards, local experiences, merch bundles, or sponsor-provided items.
(c) Winners must have verified their identity and payment account to collect the prize.

6.4. Prize Conditions

  • Prizes are non-transferable unless stated.
  • Winners may be required to show ID or sign documentation verifying eligibility.
  • Winners are responsible for any local, state, or federal taxes.
  • Prizes that cannot be delivered due to invalid information may be forfeited.
  1. Conduct

7.1. Hunters must respect participating businesses, staff, and customers.
7.2. Hunters may not tamper with or remove QR codes.
7.3. Obstructive, threatening, or disruptive behavior may result in immediate disqualification.
7.4. Hunt staff may remove any participant violating these Rules.

  1. Safety

8.1. Hunters participate at their own risk.
8.2. Hunters must follow all pedestrian, traffic, and public safety rules.
8.3. Soda Hunt is not responsible for injuries, lost items, or damages incurred while participating.

  1. Prohibited Actions & Fraud Prevention

9.1. The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Sharing QR codes or screenshots
  • Using location spoofing or automated tools
  • Scanning outside official business premises
  • Creating multiple accounts
  • Attempting to manipulate prize systems

9.2. Violations may result in:

  • Immediate removal from all Hunts
  • Forfeiture of prizes
  • Permanent account suspension

QR codes may be rotated or replaced to prevent misuse.

  1. Privacy & Communications

10.1. Information collected is used for Hunt administration, prize fulfillment, account verification, and communications.
10.2. Personal information will not be sold to third parties.
10.3. Hunters may opt out of marketing messages but must keep email/SMS active for prize notifications.
10.4. Failure to receive messages due to blocking filters does not constitute grounds for appeal.

  1. Modifications & Termination

11.1. Soda Hunt™ reserves the right to modify, pause, or terminate any Hunt due to technical issues, fraud, or events beyond its control.
11.2. Updated Rules will be posted on SodaHunt.com.
11.3. Continued participation after updates constitutes acceptance of revised Rules.

  1. Limitation of Liability

By participating, Hunters agree that Soda Hunt™, its owners, partners, sponsors, and participating businesses are not liable for:

  • Technical failures or QR scan issues
  • Lost or delayed prize notifications
  • Injuries, property damage, or theft
  • Offer changes or expirations
  • Incorrect or invalid payment accounts
